Summit Walkers' Special

Ride up, walk down

The trail follows the line down the valley, so you’re never far from a train if the weather turns or your legs do. It’s eight miles, mostly downhill, through the heather, the market town and the woods.

Your ticket gets you to the top and back on any train from any station on the line, so you can walk as much or as little as you like.

What's included

  • A single ticket to Summit Halt
  • A packed lunch from the buffet
  • The trail map, with the halts where you can catch a train if your legs give up
